Jon grew up playing recreational and select baseball in Kettering, OH.  He held the first spot in Fairmont’s starting rotation for two years, leading them to a school’s best 21-7 record his senior year and was selected to the annual Bob Ross Classic, a regional All-Star game held at Fifth Third field in Dayton, after his Junior year.  He holds ten school records including most strikeouts in a career and season, most wins over a career, and best career ERA.  Jon was the leader of a group of nine seniors his final year, seven of whom are now playing collegiate ball.  After completing his senior year, he was apart of the 2004 Cincinnati Storm Club who took third in the nation at the Babe Ruth World Series.
