Ohio State 8 Dayton 7
At Ohio State - April 7, 2001

OSU took game one of the series with a dramatic 8-7, 8 inning win over the
visiting Dayton Flyers. Down two heading into the bottom of the 7th, the
Bucks tied the game on freshman Matt Scott's fly ball that was dropped by
Dayton's left fielder. After a 1-2-3 top of the 8th, OSU won it in the
bottom half on sophomore Mark Loudon-Brown's single that scored senior Chad
Lowe. Buckeye starter Dan Dietrich took a no decision despite striking out
12 in 6 innings of work. Loudon-Brown paced a revitalized OSU attack with 3
hits and 3 RBI.
