Ohio State 4 Central Michigan 1
At Central Michigan - April 28, 2001
The Bucks started the weekend off right against the hosts Cippewas, winning
game one of the series that would decide the Great Lakes Conference champ,
4-1. With the game tied at one apiece in the top of the seventh, freshman
Jason Goodman led off by launching a 1-1 fastball well over the left-center
field fence. Then, with another run plated and two outs, junior Paul
Kollman dropped a bomb of his own off an 0-2 curveball, bringing the score
to it's final tally. Sophomore Dan Dietrich stymied the vaunted CMU attack
in yet another fine outing, tossing a complete game while scattering 6 hits
and yielding just one run. Dietrich's record now stands at 3-1 with a
sparse 2.00 ERA.
