At Hobbs Field - Pueblo, CO - May 25th, 2002
The Club Baseball Bucks came up big when it really counted, coming back
twice to eventually defeat Virginia 8-7 in an 11 inning classic. First,
down a run in the bottom of the seventh, senior Chris Held stroked his
second homerun of the season to allow OSU to see another inning. Then, down
7-6 with two outs and none on in the bottom of the eleventh, juniors
All-American Mark Loudon-Brown and Ryan Noward singled. With the game on
the line, sophomore Jason Goodman came up big again, ripping a double to
left just past the outstretched arm of the UVA left fielder to win the game
and set off the Bucks second on-field celebration.
Two time All-American senior Paul Kollman tossed seven strong innings, and
sophomore Brad Martin threw four quality innings to chalk up his third win.
Goodman led the offensive attack with three hits.
